For those of you who are passionate connoisseurs, growing gin-thusiasts or just looking to learn more about the botanical spirit, Gin Palooza is this month’s event worthy of your attendance.
After a successful first event earlier this year, the Australian Gin Distillers Association is returning the celebration of gin to Paddington Town Hall from 23 to 24 November. For just 70pp you can join 39 leading craft gin distillers from Australian and New Zealand for three days of exciting masterclasses, bottomless tastings, Meet the Maker sessions and over 200 gins to taste. You can expect newcomers and elite Aussie distillers in attendance, including the likes of Giniversity, Never Never, Ironbark Distiller, Four Pillars Gin, The National Gin Company and many more.
Following a few gin tastings and an exploration of gin varieties our Down Under distillers have to offer, get involved in the festival’s masterclasses. Some of the highlights include the Bill Lark Masterclass (22 November) that will be sharing an informative history lesson and hands-on gin tasting extravagance with Australia’s leading modern craft distillers, the Giniversity Master Class (23 November) where you can craft a personalised botanical blending and create your own gourmet infusion, and Karu Distillers Master Class (24 November), that explores the eclectic profile of the juniper berry, followed by tasting premium cocktails and gin chocolates.
And if you think you might be hungry for more than just gin concoctions, the festival promises a range of culinary offerings with a gourmet tapas bar.
The season will kick off on Thursday 21 November with the Gin Awards Presentation Dinner. Guests can enjoy coveted trophy gins, celebratory G&T, a three-course meal and a gin-infused cabaret performance from Mother’s Ruin.
