Fresh Catering set to open No. 10 Bistro in Sydney CBD this month

Sydney-based catering company, Fresh Catering, is set to open a new restaurant at 10 Macquarie Street in the Sydney CBD. Named No. 10 BISTRO, it will open on February 3rd and follows their recent news of acquiring new business from The Mint and Justice and Police Museum. Fresh Catering will also operate the ground floor retail venue, No. 10 STORE.

Kristie Paul of Inochi Design Life, who will work closely with Sydney Living Museums, will revamp both No. 10 BISTRO and No. 10 STORE. Paul was responsible for the highly acclaimed design of The Governor’s Table at Museum of Sydney in 2014.

Chef Simon Collier of Vaucluse House Tearooms will be in charge of the kitchen at No. 10 BISTRO. With over 20 years’ experience, Collier’s menu will include contemporary bistro style food, with a focus on featuring high quality local produce. Prices on the menu range in price from $16 – $34 for entrees and mains and from $10 for sweets, and include Fritto Misto (Crispy Local Catch of the Day, King Prawn, Zucchini Flowers & Malt Vinegar Spray), Our Pate (Organic Chicken Livers, Honeycomb, Toasted Sourdough) and Crema Catalana (with Summer Berries & Anise Biscuits).

No. 10 STORE, located on the ground floor in the Bullion Room, will operate as a florist and gift boutique of sorts, as well as offering espresso, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Andrew Birley (head stylist at Fresh Catering) will manage Fresh Flowers & Style from No. 10 STORE, Fresh Catering’s in-house premium floral and styling service.

“Sydney Living Museums is delighted to appoint Fresh Catering as the exclusive venue caterer and operator at The Mint and Justice & Police Museum. Fresh share our vision of delivering the highest standards in food and beverage, service and visitor experience”, said Mark Goggin, Executive Director of Sydney Living Museums.

“Fresh transformed the dining offer at Museum of Sydney launching The Governors Table in 2014, a high quality and successful restaurant that drew inspiration from, and was sensitive to, the Museum’s historic site. We look forward to working with Fresh to develop an innovative new dining and retail concept at The Mint as well as provide exceptional event services in two of the city’s most significant historic venues, strengthening our position as a unique venue operator.”
