North Bondi Fish brings back the classics for new takeaway menu

Beloved beachside eatery North Bondi Fish has now launched a special takeaway menu to adjust to the ever-changing dynamic of a global pandemic. Although Sydney is starting to see restaurants open back up for 10 diners at a time, takeaway is still very much the smartest play for those who still want to experience their favs, and from 27th May, North Bondi Fish will allow you to do just that.

The kitchen is bringing back some of their all-star dishes and a selection of playful drinks for on-the-go diners, who are encouraged to order ahead or simply pop by for post-swim pick up.

Matt Moran, who recently introduced an at-home dining menu for nearby Chiswick, says he is looking forward to being able to open up North Bondi Fish’s usually bustling balcony soon enough, but for now is excited for guests to experience the new offerings.

Solotel newcomer and hospitality veteran Ed Loveday was tapped to curate the drinks list, which brings back the restaurant’s signature spicy margarita along with a fresh passionfruit margarita, yuzu negroni, mandarin gimlet, a few classics, and more.

In terms of food, expect the return of signature fish tacos with cabbage, radish and jalapeno, fish curry with coconut, lemongrass and turmeric, and – no-brainer – fish and chips. There are also sashimi platters, fresh cooked Tiger prawns with spicy cocktail sauce and more.

Taking choice anxiety out of equation, the kitchen has also curated “NBF Family Packs” for $155 each, featuring a selection of dishes to share between groups of four. Cocktails can be added for extra.

And for those who have been tuning into Matt Moran’s online cooking classes every week and perhaps want something a bit more hands-on, the menu will also feature some ready-to-cook items which just need some final touches at home. This includes a fish and leek pie for four, a fish curry pack for two, and more to come.

The takeaway menu is available from North Bondi Fish starting Wednesday May 27. Orders can be made ahead of time via nbftakeaway.com.au, by simply walking in, or calling ahead. Pick up is available 5:30pm – 8pm Wednesday to Friday, 12pm – 8pm Saturday and 12pm – 3pm Sunday.
