International Burger Day 2020, also known as today, brings with a bunch of deals across town as burger joints celebrate their trade of choice. From chains right down to gourmet shacks, today is your best bet at scoring that juicy, cheesy, melty burg you’ve been waiting for since the city went into lockdown.
Be sure to check in with your local burger joint to see if they will be mixing it up with some IBD deals today. Here’s a few to get you started.
BL Burgers
The mighty BL Burgers, constant reference point for heated “best burger in Sydney” discussions, will be celebrating International Burger Day at three of their venues today. Head along to either the Darlinghurst, Parramatta or Newtown (Loaded by BL) stores and you can score yourself a Blame Canada for only $10. And for the uninitiated, Blame Canada is one of the best fucking burgers you’ll ever find in Australia.
Grill’d
Yep, if the plethora of burger options at casual chain Grill’d is within reach then make sure you don some of your fanciest threads and head on over. The ubiquitous burger shop is in the middle of a perky social media initiative called “#DressUpForGrilld” where customers who rock up in their most creative get-up between now and 19th June have a shot at winning a whole year’s supply of burgers. You just need to dress up and head along for either dine-in or to pick up a takeaway order, then share a video with your order via TikTok or Instagram and tag @GrilldBurgers and #DressUpForGrilld. You can enter as many times as you want to, and you’ll also get a free drink (not alcoholic) for the effort. Not Bhed.
Burger Patch
One for the Northies among us. Chatswood’s popular American-styled Burger Patch is celebrating the day by cutting costs for their Burger Patch Beef and Chicken burgers to a cool $10. And if you cop two burgers (or more) you’ll get a free 4-pack of Jarritos, a decades-old, fruit flavoured soda that’s been popular in Mexico since the 1950s and only recently made its debut in Australia. Do some digging around on Burger Patch’s Instagram and you might also be able to score yourself a case of the soda, plus a month’s supply of burgers.
Burger Head
Burger Head have kept their International Burger Day plans under wraps, but they will be unveiling something big sometime today. The Penrith burger joint has fast become one of the most popular spots for Australia’s favourite food in the past few years so if you’re in the area, you’re going to want to be paying close attention to their Instagram.
Deliveroo
Although its best to order directly with any restaurant right now, to make sure your entire fee goes directly to them without any middle man taking commission, there’s a deal on Deliveroo today that’s almost too good to pass up. That’s up to 50% off a huge variety of burgers, with Sydney shacks participating including The Nine Burger Bar, Johnny Bird, Belly Bao, Burgers by Dip and Bondi Relish. And yes, that’s Newtown’s Belly Bao, meaning that you can get one of their baogers – no doubt one of Sydney’s best casual eats – for a steal today.
