Founders of Fishbowl opens up ‘Fish Shop’ in Bondi

After opening up their popular venue Fishbowl in 2016, Bondi is unveiling their newest addition to the club with Fish Shop. Set up as a mix between a traditional and modern fish shop, the venue promises a fine-casual dining experience with takeaway options available and a sit in restaurant and bar.

On the menu, Head Chef Joel Bennett who’s worked in kitchens around Sydney at the likes of PIER, Bistrode CBD, Three Blue Ducks and Peppes, brings to the menu Mediterranean and coastal middle-east inspired dishes with seasonal changes. All seafood will be sourced locally and sustainably from Sydney suppliers.

An array of snacks will be available such as freshly shucked appellation rock oysters, anchovy toast and cured fish plates. As a dine in and takeaway joint, the menu also features a selection of ‘Boxes to Go’ such as their classic ‘Fish Box’’ which includes fish as a main, any salad or side and a condiment. Whilst their ‘Lunch Box’ includes a choice of Fish Shop’s own hot smoked trout, salmon gravlax or tuna confit with any salad, crostini, pickles and house-made labneh. Customers will also have the option to pre-order seafood online and pick it up.

“We figured – people love food when it’s simple, clean, healthy and feels great. Could we create a new restaurant experience whereby instead of a traditional menu we simply feature market fresh seafood paired with chef driven condiments, salads and vegetables? It’s simple, clean, healthy and delivers insane value,” says Founder, Nathan Dalah.

Fish Shop is set to open 21 December 2020.
