Deliveroo is offering 20% off at more than 5,000 Melbourne restaurants

Deliveroo has announced that, in response to Melbourne being thrown back into stage-three lockdown, the food-delivery service will be offering a 20% discount to all customers who order from a local restaurant between Monday and Thursday, for at least the next two weeks.

This offer will be available across 5,000 metro Melbourne restaurants on all orders $30 and above. Importantly, Deliveroo will be footing the bill for the discount, so the cost won’t fall on the venues.

Although do keep in mind that that venue you’re supporting will still be paying Deliveroo’s service fee. Along with other food delivery services, the refusal to lower the fee has been subject of much criticism – and even a petition – during the coronavirus pandemic, given the fact that these businesses need all the profit they can to survive.

In light of the above, enjoy the much-needed savings right now (especially early and mid-week as these tend to be the quietest periods for a lot of spots), but please do consider ordering directly from the restaurant when the discounts are done.

Those wanting to take advantage of the discount just need to look out for the “20% tag” when ordering from their local.

The discount is available via the Deliveroo app.
