F&L News: Biggest Agave conference in Southern Hemisphere hits Sydney for two days, celebrating Tequila & Mezcal

Next weekend will see Sydney host the biggest Agave conference in the Southern Hemisphere. The two day conference aims to be a networking event between growers, producers, bartenders, spirit professionals, regulatory councils and, of course, enthusiasts alike.

Agave Love is providing a range of activities across the two days including: master classes, tasting sessions, mixology sessions, talks and parties – most of which are hosted by the leaders of this industry. Other intimate functions include a Margarita Brunch with two official Tequila Ambassadors or a seminar based on Mexico City’s new hipster drink, Mezcal.

Agave Central will be the main hub of the event, showcasing over 24 tequila brands and over 60 Tequila’s and Mezcal’s. You’ll also have the opportunity to talk face to face with brand distributors and agencies and the best part of all, sample their products. This will be held at the National Art School of Sydney, Darlinghurst.

Other Agave Love events will be hosted across a series of eclectic bars on Oxford Street: The Cliff Dive, Shady Pines, The Winery, Hello Sailor and Casoni Low 302. One of our favourites, Mr Moustache in Bondi Beach, will also have selected parties.

Tickets and more information on these events are available on the official website [www.agavelove.com.au]. Passes for both days of the conference include a wrist band on arrival, entitling the individual to free entry to Agave Central and the exclusive ‘Lucha Libre’ Mexican Wrestling After Party at The Cliff Dive on Sunday night. Monday night will see a ‘Wrap Party’ at The Cliff Dive, with a full Mariachi Band and Mexican madness; tickets for the wrap are available on the website also.
