Darlinghurst gets a dedicated hot wings bar with cold tinnies (Sydney)

This weekend Sydney is getting a back-alley restaurant dedicated to buffalo wings and ice cold tinnies. Opening August 26th, Wings X Tins will open its doors to serve insane chicken wings and the biggest collection of ice cold tinnies.

Wings X Tins is the product of two wing obsessed mates, Anthony MacFarlane & Alfredo Perez, who, after smashing bulk wings and tins in the U.S. realised that the humble buffalo wing needed to be showcased here in Australia.

Owners MacFarlane and Perez refurbished the iconic ‘No Name’ restaurant behind Stanley Street in Darlinghurst to make room for this retro inspired eatery. From an 80’s Swedish ski cabin to a booth inspired by ‘ya mums house’, not to mention, each booth is also fitted out with it’s very own tin crusher to satisfy your eco-conscious.

They take their wings serious making all but one (Frank’s Original) sauce in house with new sauce creations coming out each week to draw in the crowds. The opening week special is a bacon wrapped wing, double fried and served on a waffle with hot sauce, maple syrup and a lime aioli.

Those who are looking to take a risk on their wings can take part in the Russian Roulette challenge, where just one of the wings is covered in the T-bones Doom Juice Sauce, but non-one knows which one. This sneaky wing is made from The Carolina Reaper, from the Guinness book of records hottest chili in the word. Once you’ve finished the challenge anyone who finishes the serving eats free and gets their name and picture smacked on the wall of glory.
