Chefs and surfers come together to host the SurfAid cocktail party and degustation dinner (Sydney)

Some of the best international and local surfers will be trading in their boardies for chef jackets once again as the exciting SurfAid Cocktail Party makes it’s return next week, located at postcard-worthy bar-diner The Bucket List by Bondi Beach. Amongst the surfing talent joining some of Australia’s best chefs is former world surfing champion Mark “Occy” Occhulupo and Bondi Rescue star Rod Kerr, taking on the role of The Surfing Chefs in an impressive culinary team that spans Sydney all the way to Perth.

Taking place on Wednesday 9th March, the find-raising cocktail party will be held in support of award-winning humanitarian aid organisation SurfAid and offers guests a chance to experience a unique evening of food and fine wine.

Leading the food and beverage team will be Tom Walton of The Bucket List and Russell Blaikie of Must Winebar in Perth, who both share a common passion for surfing and will be aiming to make this cocktail party a memorable experience with a multi-course degustation menu made with fine local produce, all donated by local suppliers, and paired up with superb wines from Stella Bella, Vranken Pommery, and Bunkers.

Rounding out the kitchen will be Ben O’Donoghue from Billykart Kitchen in Brisbane, Massimo Mele of Catering by Massimo Mele, Ian Oakes from Drake Eatery, Stephen Scott of Charing Cross Hotel, Gianluca Donzelli of PizzaPerta, Logan Campbell from Jonah’s, and Matthew Butcher from Melbourne’s Morris Jones.

The event will be hosted by popular TV personality Mark Beretta.

Celebrity chef Russell Blaikie created the concept of Surfing Chefs for SurfAid in 2011 and the series of events has now raised over $175,000 for SurfAid and helped fund their work in the Mentawai and Nias islands, off the coast of Sumatra, and Sumbawa and Sumba in Eastern Indonesia.
