Cheeseburger soup is real and it’s coming to Melbourne this month

We were ready to write this one off as a “nope” until we found out who was behind it and what it was for. Burger lord Jimmy Hurlston of Jimmy’s Burgers, Easey’s, Guilty and a whole host of other top-notch burger joints has teamed up with Deliveroo and The Salvation Army for a special exclusive Cheeseburger Soup. It’s all part of the Salvos’ ongoing “Be a Souperhero” campaign, encouraging Australians to replace their regular meals with soup between July 29th and August 4th, and use the proceeds to help the charity’s various community campaigns.

The soup will help raise funds for these ongoing community campaigns, tempting hungry burger and soup lovers in the Melbourne area when its made available exclusively on Monday 31st July via Deliveroo between the times 11.30am-2.30pm and 6pm-8.30pm. The soup will be priced at $10 a serving.

Before your thoughts jump straight to heavy doses of liquid cheese, Jimmy has described his creation as more of a French onion soup base featuring full-flavoured ground beef, Frenchy’s yellow mustard, pickles, and plenty of cheese.
