Cargo Bar is relaunching with a huge party this weekend (Sydney)

It didn’t take long for Cargo Bar to announce its triumphant return, but for a few months Sydney was without one of its most renowned party spots due a major refurbishment. The makeover is complete now; Cargo Bar is officially relaunching, and with a characteristically high-profile party on Saturday 4th November.

The space, which is now inspired by the sleek grey tones of a New York waterfront, is a move away from Cargo Bar’s past life. Now the defining design elements are stacked glass blocks, charred timber, neon blue stairs, bright soundwave graphics, and a distinctive Statue of Liberty DJ Booth.

With a new design also comes a refocused food and drinks menu. On the drinks side, there’s a renewed interest in local and international wines alongside classic brews, attractive cocktails and 1.5L magnums of bubbles. The kitchen will be providing the eats to go along with all this boozy greatness, sliding in a casual menu of mini hot dogs, pork sliders, salt cod croquettes, mushroom arancini, and deep-pan pizzas with toppings like margarita and BBQ chicken. Best of all, pizza-by-the-slice will be offered up until 2am for those that just don’t know when to quit.

Then of course you’ve got the lineup of local DJs both established and emerging. The great KLP will be headed up the launch party, but from there the schedule includes the likes of Jye Emdur, Recess and Chivalry, spanning mainly house and R&B flavoured bangers.
