169 Darlinghurst and Mr Black introduce espresso martini on tap (Sydney)

Nestled above well known hot spot Tatler, the drinking and dancing destination that is 169 Darlinghurst has been sitting pretty since opening earlier this year, amassing a dedicated following thanks to some very well priced, delicious food and an artistic interior. Surely that following is about to grow with this latest collaboration, a link up with awarded coffee liqueur Mr Black that has resulted in the ever-popular espresso martini being introduce to their menu. So what, right? Everywhere does an espresso martini now, there’s even a bar dedicated to the famous cocktail. Don’t be so quick to judge, there’s a rather unique difference – these espresso martini cocktails are on tap.

The caffeine concoction will be served straight from the tap, poured into a cocktail glass with a smooth presentation that looks as though it had been carefully and delicately layered right before your eyes. Usually we’d think this quite the gimmick, but with Mr Black being involved it seems like this could be a legit way to get your quality espresso martini hit from now on.

The ingredients that have gone into the espresso martini on tap are mixed according to a specially made recipe, with the liquid then being charged with nitrogen in the keg before being pushed through the lines and served on tap. Specialty brewed coffee from Pablo & Rusty’s is used, along with Mr Black Coffee Liqueur, Kettle One Vodka, and sugar.
