RØDE announces an all-in-one compact audio production studio, the Rodecaster Pro II

Whether you’re a musician, streamer or podcaster, RØDE is hoping to please all creators and tick everything off your audio-needs checklist with their newest product, the RØDECaster Pro II. This compact studio and mixer follows 2018’s original RØDECaster Pro console which aimed to bring a professional broadcast studio into a single easy-to-use product.

“It was a truly groundbreaking innovation, the likes of which had never been seen before, and it has had a significant impact on the growth of podcasting over the last four years. When developing the RØDECaster Pro II, we went in with a similar mindset to the original: we wanted to create something truly revolutionary once again, but this time our focus was all creators, not just podcasters,” says RØDE CEO Damien Wilson. “We designed it completely from the ground up to deliver unprecedented performance and complete adaptability in any creative application, from gaming and streaming to music production. And, of course, it’s still the most powerful podcasting console available. This is not simply an evolution of the RØDECaster Pro. It’s a completely new beast unlike anything you’ve seen before.”

The RØDECaster Pro II boasts some impressive features and inputs. Four studio-grade Neutrik® combo inputs allow for more than just connecting microphones. Instruments, including guitar, bass, keyboards and other devices, can be connected into these “ultra-low-noise, high-gain Revolution Preamps” to deliver pristine audio quality. The new console eliminates the need for additional boosters, processing and lifters – with a low equivalent input noise rating of just -131.5dBV and a whopping 76dB of gain from each input. Eight SMART pads are customisable and trigger instant effects, jingles, sound effects, send MIDI commands to external hardware and software, and activate mixer actions, like fades.

A 5.5″ HD touchscreen display lets you view and adjust all of your inputs and, whoa, are there a lot of input options. Four analog inputs for mics and instruments sit alongside four high-power headphone outputs and ¼-inch balanced line outputs. This allows the user to connect speakers for crystal-clear monitoring and playback with ease and control. Two computers or mobile devices can simultaneously be connected through the dual USB-C interfaces, with an additional virtual USB channel to allow chat applications to be connected. Advanced Bluetooth connectivity facilitates connecting and recording ultra-high quality phone calls or relaying the output feed to wireless speakers. A microSD slot also grants creators the ability to record directly to a card, in addition to using the USB out to record on a computer or external storage device.

We will have a review of the RØDECaster Pro II in the coming weeks. The RØDECaster Pro II is available for preorder now and will be shipping in June. For more information you can head HERE.
