Track of the Week: Lord Huron “Mine Forever” (2021)

Lord Huron

Lord Huron is back and with a new album on the way. On May 21st the alt-country outfit will release their fourth album: Long Lost.

The group have already kick started the album cycle with the release of the first single “Mine Forever”. Long Lost is billed as a concept album. It is centred around the history of the Whispering Pines Studio, and Lord Huron’s performance series Alive From Whispering Pines, where fans were introduced to a Mr. Tubbs Tarbell and given a sneak peak of new songs.

“Mine Forever” retains everything from Lonesome Dreams and Strange Tails that made fall for the band. It’s bold, and incredibly cinematic. That’s an intro that the late Ennio Morricone would surely have been proud of. Vocally it’s, for me, bang on the money too, from the atmospheric main vocal performance through to the fab backing vocals. As lead singles go, “Mine Forever”, has me looking forward to May 21st with anticipation, so job done I guess.

“Mine Forever” is out now. Long Lost is out May 21st via Inertia. Pre-order a copy HERE. You can keep up to date with Lord Huron via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
