While many of us are unable to travel very far with COVID restrictions in place, Melbourne-based duo This Way North have managed to conjure up the feeling of embarking on a lengthy road trip with their latest track “Driving Roads”.
The two-piece band, consisting of drummer/vocalist Cat Leahy and guitarist/vocalist Leisha Jungalwalla, transport you to a sunny place – with its lush guitar phrases and upbeat rhythm, this track is the perfect song to welcome in the first week of spring.
“Driving Roads is very much an ode to the open road, capturing our love for adventure and the excitement that comes with that—it’s so visceral. We love nothing more than taking a road we’ve never been on before,” state the duo.
The song’s playful music video shows off the duo’s natural humour and sees the addition of an unofficial third “band member”, Hector the van.
“Driving Roads” comes from the duo’s third collection of songs EP Vol 3. which is out now.
This Way North are hosting an online single launch for the track streaming from The Star Hotel, Yackandandah on 10 September. Tickets can be found HERE.
