Track of the Day: Spacey Jane “Cold Feet” (2018)

Following a brief hiatus to escape to warmer climbs (completely understandable!) Perth’s Spacey Jane have returned with a brand new single “Cold Feet” and are all set to give it the offical launch treatment this Friday night.

For those not already looped in, the band formed back in 2016, with mates Caleb & Kieran revisiting their teenage musical ambitions. Ashton and Mells, guitarist and bassist, were added to the mix. Cut to two years later, the band have an EP, and a sleuth of sold-out shows on the West Coast to their name, plus some solid showings over East too.

“Cold Feet” is just the latest high point in what has been an already successful 2018. This year the band have already found themselves playing Falls Downtown, WA’s State of the Art (SOTA) Festival, as well as playing some high-profile support slots. Their year doesn’t seem to be slowing too much either, the band are due to supporting The Charlatans at their upcoming Perth gig later this month too, with more shows to follow in October.

The single marks a bit of a sonic face-lift for the band, or at the very least a bit of a sonic polish, after all there’s still plenty of those signature Spacey Jane vibes on show! It’s very much an upbeat feel good affair, with jangly guitars aplenty. It’s a beauty of a track that is sure to translate well live.

Spacey Jane will be launching “Cold Feet” with a special show at Perth’s Badlands Bar this Friday 17th August with support from Your Girl Pho, who was just announced to play Music Matters in Singapore next month, Butter and Playground. Follow the band on Facebook and keep an eye out for East Coast tour dates, which are set to be announced soon.
