Track of the Day: Snotty Nose Rez Kids & Drezus “Where They At?” (2020)

Canadian First Nations rappers Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Drezus have teamed up to turn up the energy with “Where They At?”. Tapping into the vein of modern trap beats, the bouncy single sticks out amongst the flood of modern hip hop for the vibrant styles that bring this production to life.

Sounding like they are from the Bay Area, but rhyming over a beat that’s unmistakably a product of various styles, SNRK and a guesting Drezus celebrate achieving success regardless of obstacles and negative energy. The natural swagger each rapper brings to the beat just doubles down on the positive concept, keeping things focused on the uptick without getting caught up with any of modern rap’s more negative tropes.

“A lot has changed in our lives over the years. At the end of the day, we do our best to keep our heads high and keep moving forward,” said SNRK’s Yung Trybez when asked about the single. “‘Where They At’ was inspired by just experiencing life. We’re letting you know we’re doing alight through all the madness”.
