Track of the Day: Hey Baby! “Love and Drugs” (2019)

When Brisbane band Hey Baby! describe themselves as surf rock they’re not kidding – they make waves both as musicians and as avid surfers! Currently teasing their forthcoming second EP, the gang have just dropped latest single “Love and Drugs“, and we’re stoked to be naming it today’s Track of the Day!

Drawing comparisons to the likes of Dune Rats and Skegss, Hey Baby! first burst onto the scene with “1800-WEED“, a track that earned them spins on triple j and triple j unearthed. Local festival appearances and support slots for artists such as Press Club, Crocodylus, and Dear Seattle soon followed, and with plenty more music to come, these party punks are definitely a band to watch!

Of latest single, “Love and Drugs”, a fast-paced, infectious number, singer Kacper Majchrowski says:

“Sharing memories and substances. Sharing come ups and comedowns. Sharing beauty and inelegance. It’s a whirlwind of a song that attempts to capture the intensity and unpredictability of ‘Love and Drugs’,”
