The enduring legacy and massive appeal of Tim and Neil Finn was celebrated with two smash hit albums; 2005’s She Will Have Her Way, and 2010’s He Will Have His Way. Now it’s time for the boys and girls to play together on They Will Have Their Way: The Songs of Tim & Neil Finn National Tour this November.
They Will Have Their Way will give audiences the chance to experience the timeless work of the Finn brothers, both lovingly recreated and reinterpreted by a brilliant line-up of Australian artists. She Will Have Her Way’s Sarah Blasko, Clare Bowditch, Sally Seltmann and Holly Throsby will join their male counterparts Paul Dempsey, Alexander Gow (Oh Mercy) and Lior, each artist bringing their unique musical perspective to reinterpreting a Finn classic from the brothers’ extraordinary catalogue.
The They Will Have Their Way National Tour follows the incredible success of the two albums, which have sold over 400,000 copies in Australia and New Zealand, been hailed unanimously by critics, achieved ARIA nominations, and sold strongly around the globe. Most recently, Boy & Bear’s stunning reinvention of the Crowded House classic ‘Fall At Your Feet’ placed at #5 on Triple J’s prestigious publicly-voted Hottest 100 poll for 2010.
“The next phase of this musical project is to take it to the live stage with the same curatorial care that has been brought to the albums,” says John O’Donnell, the creative force behind the albums and executive producer of the tour. “It is important that the concerts have a strong and unique voice that complements and yet stands alone from the albums. It is a testament to the genius of Tim and Neil Finn that such an amazing collection of artists has agreed to be part of this tour.”
“Sharing the stage with some of my favourite Australian songwriters, singing the Finn brothers songs, who are two of my favourite all time songwriters, will make for a very memorable November. I am incredibly excited.”
ALEXANDER GOW (OH MERCY)
“Neil and Tim Finn have built careers on the basis of great songs. The enduring nature of these songs and the integrity and longevity of their success is really inspiring.” SARAH BLASKO
