The inaugural Sydney Film Music Festival takes off this October

A one of a kind event series is coming to Sydney in October, celebrating both film and music. The inaugural Sydney Film Music Festival is set to take place across three nights in October at the ICC Sydney Theatre, offering punters the chance to experience the iconic soundtracks of some classic films in a unique setting.

Tickets can be sold separately or to all three events – as series curator Scott Mesiti notes, “We look forward to this becoming an annual event to bring together the music and cinematic worlds in a celebration of emotion and humanity through the mediums.”

Kicking off the series is a celebration of 50 years of Star Trek, as ‘The Ultimate Voyage’ takes aim at the franchise – film and TV included – bringing together music and vision from installations including Star Trek: The Motion PictureStar Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Come October 14th, Hans Zimmer‘s Gladiator is brought to life, performed in full alongside the film itself, while on October 15th, the Sydney Film Music Festival wraps up with a Dreamworks Animation in Concert event, celebrating composers including Zimmer, Alan SilvestriDanny Elfman and Harry Gregson-Williams.

Tickets are on sale for the Sydney Film Music Festival from July 26th via www.mjrpresents.com.
