The Fray announce Australian tour celebrating twenty years of How To Save A Life

Skyrocketing to fame with their smash-hit “How to Save a Life”, The Fray quickly became a defining voice of the early 2000s. Over the course of more than two decades, they’ve enjoyed a long but measured career, with only four studio albums, yet a steady stream of massive chart-topping singles.

In 2022, lead vocalist Isaac Slade announced his departure from the band, leaving guitarist Joe King to step up as lead vocalist. Despite this change, the band forged ahead, releasing their 2024 EP The Fray Is Back. This year marks a whopping twenty years since the release of their iconic album How to Save a Life, and to celebrate, they’re hitting the road for a tour, playing four shows in Australia.

How to Save a Life became a cultural touchstone for a reason. The album is packed with unforgettable, catchy melodies that we all remember hearing on the radio time and time again. Slade’s unique, evocative vocals and the somber yet powerful rock instrumentation make it a standout. The album’s raw, heartfelt lyrics resonate deeply, capturing the essence of early 2000s pop-rock while still holding up as an emotional and timeless piece of music. With singles like “Over My Head (Cable Car)”, “Look After You” and of course the title track, it’s a record that has stood the test of time and one that I personally revisit often.

The tour kicks off this December, starting in Perth at Metro City, before heading to Brisbane’s Eatons Hill Hotel, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and then going out with a bang at the iconic Forum in Melbourne. Presales start from March 27th, with tickets being released to the public on April 1st.
