The Flaming Lips are the first band announced for Mofo 2016

American psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips are the first artist to be revealed for the Mofo Festival 2016! They’ll be taking to the outdoor stage at the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania in January next year.

Since the early 80s, The Flaming Lips have released more than 16 albums and have worked with the likes of Nick Cave and Yoko Ono, making them a real catch for the festival. And of course, their live shows are legendary.

You can expect the full 2016 lineup to be announced at 11am Friday 16 October, with tickets to go on sale via Head there for all the event details.

Mofo is held from the 13th to the 18th of January at MONA in Hobart, Tasmania.
