Sydney Festival will host a David Bowie tribute tonight

As people all over the world continue to pay tribute to David Bowie following his tragic passing earlier this week, most are coming together to celebrate the vast, various, and vital music that the singular artist has been gifting his fans for decades. We’ve already seen large-scale sing-a-longs in places like Brixton (where Bowie was born), and now Sydneysiders will get an opportunity to come together for Bowie as Sydney Festival has planned a last minute tribute night at Meriton Festival Village in Hyde Park.

Tonight, Wednesday 13th January, from 6pm there will be two free DJ sets, from 2SER’s Music Director Andrew Khedoori, playing nothing but Bowie brilliance, with the first session from 6:15pm-7:30pm and the second from 8:45pm-9:45pm. Sydney Festival is encouraging those who head along to do so in their best Ziggy Stardust attire.

David Bowie passed away at age 69 on Monday 11th January following an eighteen month battle with cancer. His death came just days after his birthday and the release of his latest album Blackstar, which many are now realising was his farewell note to the world.

Head along tonight to celebrate the absolute impact this man has had on the world of music, culture, fashion, art, and film. For full details on Meriton Festival Village click HERE.
