Single of the Day: Vanessa Elisha “Dark & Lonely” (2017)

It’s getting colder now and mornings are becoming tougher to embrace. If you’re feeling like staying in, get around the new track from Vanessa Elisha, who has doled out a prime slice of dark R&B in “Dark & Lonely”. The tune itself is apologetic and nostalgic in content matter, but the waves of density that come with the production (courtesy of XXYYXX) make “Dark & Lonely” that much heavier in its landing.

“For me it’s about being comfortable as an introverted loner, and the judgement that comes from that.” Vanessa has explained. “It’s about changing moods, changing tides, pushing people away, bringing them back in, being happy in loneliness, being sad in loneliness – the ramblings of a girl trying to figure her shit out, really.”
