Single of the Day: Manu Crook$ “Buddy Buddy” (2017)

There’s a revolution happening in Aussie hip-hop, and Manu Crook$ is leading the charge. It’s been said before and I’ll say it again here, at first listen a Manu Crook$ track sounds at home in the Atlanta rap scene. But in reality, the Ghana born rapper is based in Sydney, joining the new generation of Australian rappers rebelling against the traditional Aussie sound.

He’s known for sharp beats that melt beautifully with smooth verses, and new track “Buddy Buddy” is no exception. Here Manu gives us attitude for days, a swaggering hook reminds us he’s “paving the way” for the future if Aussie hip hop.
