Ah, LANKS. What a year the Melbourne (now Sydney based) multi-instrumentalist has had. After the release of single “Comfortable” had him out on the road for a run of sold out live shows, LANKS returned to the studio to put more ideas to record, resulting in this charmer of a song – “My Own Mystery”.
Getting together with NGAIIRE, the single is the first new piece of LANKS material since the release of his Viet Rose EP last year and indeed, the first piece of music we’ve heard NGAIIRE on since the successful bout of touring she completed with her acclaimed Blastoma album. Soulful, brilliantly produced and catchy, “My Own Mystery” shines the spotlight on both vocalists, who complement each other in a way that has had us thinking: Why has this collab not happened sooner?
