Single of the Day: Kllo “Bolide” (2016)

Well, this is a little slice of gorgeous for your Wednesday. Melbourne duo Kllo have dropped their new single in “Bolide”, the first cut release from their new EP Well Worn.

The hype and momentum that has built around Simon Lam and Chloe Kaul since the broke out with the Cusp EP in 2014 has been amazing to watch and with this tune, they’ve shown that they’re  a musical act who can definitely meet expectation.

The production and delivery is glossy, yet Chloe’s vocals offer a tenderness that draws the listener into really get stuck into the song’s narrative. Similarly to tracks by Empress Of in particular, Kllo have found a way to wrap the listener up in a warm and musically rich soundscape; this isn’t music made exclusively for any crowd, the music is immersive and nods to a wider appeal the duo is generating for themselves.

“The ones we love can have a tendency to react to things unfairly and blow situations way out of proportion,” the duo says of the tune. “But we love them just the same.”
