Single of the Day: Cosmo Thundercat “Warning Bell” (2016)

Adelaide’s Cosmo Thundercat have already built up a solid name for themselves on the local circuit but with recent shows, a spot within the popular Tram Sessions series in Melbourne and now, with new single “Warning Bell”, the folk-rock trio are starting to make some waves beyond. While their debut EP dropped back in 2014, the boys have been consistently building up a strong live presence, supporting the likes of They Might Be Giants and Augie March, while working on equally as strong recorded material.

Which brings us to “Warning Bell”. The first taste of Cosmo Thundercat’s forthcoming sophomore EP, strikes an evocative chord early. Easy to sink into, the track features some extra instrumentation from team Thundercat, with keys coming through to take some spotlight while that gorgeous acoustic guitar and harmonic vocals swirl throughout. For those who have been following Cosmo Thundercat for a little while now, you’ll notice this track is slightly different to what the band has put out in the past, but it’s still definitely worth your time.

Catch Cosmo Thundercat out on the road with “Warning Bell” this October and November:

October 13th | The Milk Factory, BRISBANE
October 14th | Eat Street Markets, BRISBANE
October 22nd | Bar 303, MELBOURNE
