New Circa Waves! Would ya look at these guys, emerging from recent studio sessions all slick and rock, like. New single “Wake Up” sees the band take on a harder edge than we were initially expecting, going down an early Arctic Monkeys-type route. It makes sense, with the band bringing in noted producer Alan Moulder on the new material; Moulder’s credits include Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Royal Blood, to name a few.
The melodic quality remains the same, but the guitars are fuzzed out more than we’ve heard from Circa Waves in the past, while the pace itself is picked up and ran with. Taken from their new album Different Creatures, “Wake Up” is definitely a good indicator of where this band is headed next – we’re certainly going to be on board for this ride.
