Single of the Day: Bus Vipers “CSIRO Weeds” (2017)

Sydney multi-instrumentalist Danel Ahern aka Bus Vipers has dropped a new single in “CSIRO Weeds”, the first release from his debut EP, Federal Highway. It’s an exciting release from Bus Vipers as it is his first news music release since 2013. What Bus Vipers does well is craft rich sounds boasting brilliant texture and melody – “CSIRO Weeds” is a great example of this knack.

As he explains of the single, “CSIRO Weeds” references ‘the group-think that college life can create.”

A slice of fun garage pop, the song (as well as the rest of Federal Highway) touches on themes of disillusionment that can hit any young person but particularly for Bus Vipers, disillusionment that had come with studying and living in Canberra.
