Two giants of British new wave and electronic music are joining forces, with Simple Minds and Gary Numan heading to Australia for a five-date arena tour in February 2027.
Simple Minds return to Australia as part of their V Tour 2027, celebrating five decades of music. Formed in Glasgow in 1977, the band have spent almost 50 years building one of British music’s most enduring catalogues, evolving from their early post-punk beginnings into the massive sound of the ’80s and beyond, with classics like “Alive and Kicking”, “Promised You A Miracle”, “Waterfront”, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, “Belfast Child” and “Sanctify Yourself”.
The Australian shows will also arrive just weeks after the release of Simple Minds’ newly announced studio album Sacrosanct, due on 29 January 2027.
Joining them is Gary Numan, another defining figure of the British new wave era. From the pioneering synth-pop of The Pleasure Principle and “Cars” to his darker industrial-influenced work, Numan has remained an influential and unpredictable force across more than four decades. The tour marks his first Australian visit in more than a decade.
