Brace yourselves, Australia, for a whirlwind fusion of metal, punk, and reggae arriving in 2024, as SiM announce their inaugural headline tour down under for next year. As part of their PLAYDEAD world tour, SiM will storm into Australia armed with their explosive new album of the same name, released late September this year. Commencing on Thursday, 12 September, at Brisbane’s The Zoo, SiM will electrify Sydney’s Crowbar before culminating on Sunday, 15 September at Melbourne’s Max Watts.
Originating from Shonan, Kanagawa in Japan, SiM has dropped six full-length albums since their formation in 2004, not only contributing their music to video games and various anime but also gracing recent seasons of the Netflix anime series Kengan Ashura with their single “RED.” Their breakout onto the global stage occurred in early 2022, when their single “The Rumbling” became the theme song for the anime Attack On Titan. This track has soared past 300 million streams, claiming the #1 Metal Song spot on Spotify in the same year and reigning on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart for seven consecutive weeks.
Their sixth studio album, PLAYDEAD, transcended the expectations set by their earlier singles, perfectly blending an eclectic mix of genres while maintaining a cohesive, heavy, and seismic impact. SiM’s ingenious amalgamation of ska, punk, reggae, and metal has enabled them to command arenas and captivate festival audiences, including their annual event, the Dead Pop Festival. A SiM live performance always promises to be refined, forceful, and utterly unforgettable.
