Robert Plant and the Sensational Shape Shifters & José González bound for the Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is set to host two incredible vocalists next March, with Robert Plant and José González each stopping by for unmissable headline performances alongside their Bluesfest festival appearances.

Bringing his band The Sensational Space Shifters to the Concert Hall, Plant will be treading the stage twice, taking the crowd through his extensive career with Led Zeppelin and his own storied solo career. Plant’s new album Carry Fire has been winning acclaim and in marking the iconic Led Zeppelin album’s 50th anniversary, 2018 is going to be momentous for Plant and with these Opera House shows now in the mix, there’s little doubt that they’ll be special for the artist and audience alike.

When it comes to González and his connection with Australia, his is a strong one. He was only performing at the Sydney Opera House last year, performing evocative and spellbinding shows to massive crowds, and for one night only next year, he returns armed with just his vocals and guitar.

“When José González takes to the Concert Hall stage next March, it will have been two years since he utterly transfixed us all with his liminal, magnetic debut here, blowing out into two sold out, rapturously received performances.” Ben Marshall, the Opera House’s Head of Contemporary Music has said. “If ever one person could, alone on stage, transform our grandest stage into an intimate, evocative and personal space for the power and beauty of music, it is José González. We cannot wait.”
