Peking Duk joins David Byrne, Khalid and more in Hong Kong for Clockenflap 2018

Clockenflap, the biggest annual music and arts festival in Hong Kong, has just released the first round of its 2018 lineup.

The world-class music program, which has built a reputation of featuring a large range of styles across both international and local musicians, will feature no less than 13 Hong Kong live debuts, 2 Asian festival exclusive performances, and a showcase for both iconic artists and current chart-toppers.

Leading the charge will be four artists of vastly different build. Firstly, you’ve got U.S indie darlings Interpol and the legendary David Byrne (of Talking Heads fame), then there’s the young, soulful and talented Khalid and Taiwanese singer-songwriter, and Clockenflap favourite, anpu. They are found at the top of a stacked lineup taking over Central Harbourfront from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th November.

The rest of the eclectic line up is just as impressive: Caribou, The Vaccines, Wolf Alice, Amadou & Mariam, Cornelius, Rhye, Alvvays, Eats Everything, Australia’s own Peking Duk, Mija, Blawan, GDJYB, Roni Size, Rone, Swindle, Sunflower Beam, Younger, Shame, D.A.N, 9M88, Cocoonics and more, plus a whole heap of international and local acts yet be announced.

And with the calibre of previous years, which includes The Chemical Brothers, Sigur Ros, A$AP Rocky, Flying Lotus, Damien Rice, and Blood Orange, we’re expecting some big things still to join the lineup.

Clockenflap will be the first ever Hong Kong shows from Interpol and Khalid, while David Byrne will be returning after a very long absence, following a performance in 2009 with Brian Eno. The Talking Heads legend will be showcasing his 11th solo album American Utopia.

Tickets to the three day festival are on sale now, with Early Bird prices available up until August 21st. Prices range from AUD $141 to AUD $242, with prices even cheaper for students as well as free entry for children ages 12 and under. All information can be found here.
