The One of One organisation and charity empowering woman and non-binary members of the Australian music industry announced last week that their annual breakfast will be returning in March 2023. The event aims to support and nurture the diverse creative community by shining a light on industry professionals and spaces for new ideas to emerge.

With a focus on collaboration, One of One helps to form connections among these creatives by hosting a series of breakfasts on International Women’s Day (8 March). The first event will be held in Meanjin/Brisbane on the important day at beloved live venue The Triffid. In 2023, the five-date breakfast tour will be the biggest rollout in their eight-year history.

Originating in Melbourne, this year’s event will also be the first to include Meanjin – a special place to founders Sarah Hamilton, Joanna Cameron and Bec Young.

“The music industry in Meanjin is thriving now, more than ever before. It’s home to so many amazing women and non-binary folk and we cannot wait to get them all together in one room to chat, celebrate and watch some very talented speakers and performers.”

Following this opening at the newly-included city, One of One will head to Larrakia/Darwin, Kaurna Yerta/Adelaide, Naarm/Melbourne and Eora/Sydney. All events except for the last two are invite-only, with more details to come of how you can get involved!

“This year, for the first time ever, tickets will be on sale to the general industry for our events in Melbourne and Sydney. Previously these have been invite-only, but we have listened to feedback and want to ensure more people can attend who may not have been invited in the past.”

With a huge list of sponsors including Warner Music Australia, Sony Music Australia, Universal Music, Mushroom Group, Secret Sounds, UNIFIED Music Group, APRA/AMCOS and more, it’s shaping up to be a truly unmissable event.
