New Empire will join Good Charlotte and Short Stack on tour this April, replacing Boys Like Girls.

Next month GOOD CHARLOTTE embark their first Australian tour in more than three years, bounding to the
stage for all-ages arena shows around the country.

Joining Good Charlotte will be Australia’s-own Short Stack, and New Empire, replacing Boys Like Girls.

Boys Like Girls have reluctantly withdrawn from touring with Good Charlotte due to a change in scheduling for the recording of their next album, the studio sessions for which now overlap the Australian tour dates.

Sydney-based New Empire who join the tour as opening act, last week released the lead single, ‘Here In Your Eyes’, from their forthcoming second album set for release later this year. It follows their 2008 debut
album ‘Come With Me Tonight’.

Special guests, NSW Central Coasters Short Stack, delivered ‘This Is Bat Country’ in late-2010, the high-anticipated follow-up to their debut album and ARIA #1 ‘Stack Is The New Black’. ‘This Is Bat Country’, home
to the ARIA #4 Platinum hit ‘Planets’ and ‘We Dance To A Different Disco Honey’, has since hit Gold.

Tickets are on sale now for Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth shows.

Cardiology’, Good Charlotte’s fifth studio album and their first through EMI/Capitol, debuted at #3 in the ARIA Album Chart. The album features the Top 10 Gold single ‘Like It’s Her Birthday’ and ‘Sex On The Radio

With more than half-a-million album sales locally, the band have surpassed sales of ten million worldwide.

The heavily tattooed and highly melodic Madden twins – vocalist Joel and guitarist Benji – and their band mates, guitarist Billy Martin, bassist Paul Thomas and drummer Dean Butterworth – last ripped it up in
Australia in October 2007, blowing away audiences with the typically brash, bold and energetic live performances for which they’ve become renowned around the world.
