Neck Deep are on a roll right now. After the release of their 2024 self-titled record and straight off the back of an insane Aussie tour, they’ve just dropped a standalone single, “You Should See Me Now“. One of the most original and exciting pop-punk bands at the moment, I cannot get enough of them and this single is no exception.
“You Should See Me Now” blends elements from across their discography, with the overall melody being reminiscent of All Distortions Are Intentional, the production and instrumentation sounding as fresh as their self-titled record, and the lyrics carrying an uplifting sincerity that feels very Life’s Not Out To Get You.
Speaking of Life’s Not Out To Get You, The band are gearing up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their pivotal record, which influenced a whole new generation of pop-punk fans. In a recent interview with yours truly, lead singer Ben Barlow said, “There will be some stuff commemorating the 10 year, yeah, we got some things finally in motion. But we don’t want to overdo it too much. I think we’ve got a nice balance of something for everyone.”
Neck Deep’s standalone singles are some of their strongest tracks, with 2019’s “She’s A God” and 2022’s “STFU” being staples in their live sets, and “You Should See Me Now” is right up there. It’s Neck Deep through and through, with a fun melody, big energy and clever lyrics.
“You Should See Me Now” is out NOW, stream it wherever you listen. Be sure to follow Neck Deep HERE and keep an eye out for LNOTGY anniversary news!
