Music Video of the Day: Tinpan Orange “Rich Man” (2016)

Tinpan Orange‘s “Rich Man” is a track that oozes beautiful melancholy that highlights the richness of Emily Lubitz‘s vocals and the delicacy of the Melbourne’s groups arrangements that have made them so beloved by fans over previous releases. The single now has a music video and, directed by Jam Nawaz, visualises this similar sense of vulnerability the listener can feel coming through on the recorded version.

As Lubitz eyes the camera, jewellery, furs and gloves are thrust on her, and as the lyrics drift out, she becomes unadorned and bare – but free. It may be a simple music video, but it hits right at the lyrics of the song and provides and effective final result.
