Music Video of the Day: The Julie Ruin “Mr. So and So” (2016)

The Julie Ruin have come through with their new music video for “Mr. So and So”, -co-directed by Kathleen Hanna herself and Becca Albee. Taken from the group’s latest album Hit Reset, “Mr. So and So” focuses in on tokenisation and in an excellently delivered clip, shows Hanna, Sara Landeau and Kathi Wilcox in different stages of stuckness in New York while Carmine Covelli lives it up with champagne and cake.

A nod to those self-proclaimed ‘male feminist’ types who remain distinterested in actually becoming educated on the issues they claim to know so much about, this clip is a brilliantly sarcastic visual accompaniment to a song that is so relevant today.
