Music Video of the Day: Mayfair Kytes “Sleepyhead” (2016)

Mayfair Kytes offer us something a lil’ different with the music video for their new single “Sleepyhead”. Mixing folk and pop elements together in highlighting what’s definitely a great talent for harmonies, musical texture and arrangement, the Melbourne band have shown that they’re all for music that envelops the listener and brings forth a vibrancy all pop  music fans find themselves yearning for.

The video, directed by Melbourne artist Thomas Russell, who also storyboard, filmed and hand-animated the piece, is as provocative as the tune itself. Contemporary dancer Geoffrey H Watson is front and centre in the clip, maneuvering and shedding heavy layers of clothing, each movement becoming more defined and confident than the next.
