Music Video of the Day: Kamikaze Girls “Deathcap” (2017)

One of our top acts to watch at this years Great Escape FestivalKamikaze Girls have dropped the music video for their single “Deathcap”, and have cemented why they were one of our picks.

The UK two piece bring their unique post riot grrrl sound and fuzz-soaked rock stronger than ever in the clip, filmed by Katie McMillan, and edited by vocalist/guitarist Lucinda LivingstoneLivingstone explains: “The song’s about how often the media attacks the entire millennial generation, and I guess we were mocking how much they seem to want to pin such a broad label on a really diverse set of people that are just doing their best to get along, for the most part.”

The hand written signs really convey the message; the sneaky “Girls can’t play guitar” is a very tongue-in-cheek poke at certain stigmas surrounding certain members of the music community. Check the clip out below, have a little boogie, and don’t stress too much about being a millennial.
