Music Video of the Day: Ceres “Happy In Your Head” (2016)

One of Melbourne’s best bands doing their thing at the moment, no question, is Ceres. Since 2012, the quartet have become favourites with crowds and industry alike, coming up in the same waves of bands like Luca Brasi and The Smith Street Band, to great success. Their sophomore album, Drag It Down On You, is set to showcase even more progression and development from Ceres and for the fans, it’s an album we can’t wait to get our hands on.

New single “Happy In Your Head” is a perfect example of everything we’ve come to love about the band. Melodic punk brimming with unabashed honesty and charm, “Happy In Your Head” is Ceres in a musical nutshell. Says Tom Lanyon of the tune, “”Happy In Your Head is about finally realising you aren’t in someone’s life anymore. You’re just a memory in their head and for some sick, sad reason – you are happy enough with that. That that’ll do. It’s the best you’ve got.”

The clip, made by Callum Preston, centres on the band performing, shots of birthday cakes – all tinged in a cool blue. Take a look at it below – we think you’ll dig.

Congratulations also need to be forwarded Ceres’ way – the band has signed with the legends at Cooking Vinyl Australia for the release of Drag It Down On You, working with Stu HarveyLeigh Gruppetta and their talented crew.
