Music Video of the Day: Billie Marten “Lionhearted” (2016)

Young UK artist Billie Marten has been on our radar for a little while now and as we near the release of her debut album Writing of Blues And Yellows (due out September 23rd), we’ve been eagerly getting around each bit of new music she’s been releasing in the lead up. The latest gem from Marten comes in the form of “Lionhearted”‘s music video; directed by Allie Avital (Yumi Zouma, Chairlift), Marten is surrounded by rushed and chaotic activity while she remains slightly suspended and detached from it all.

The 17 year old cuts a stirring figure in the clip, which in itself is a great watch for its use colour and shots – wise beyond her years and captivating as a songwriter, “Lionhearted” is a perfect example of Marten’s alluring talent. It’s no real surprise that she’s being heralded as one of a young crop of exciting British artists at the moment – we’re excited to see where she heads next, come album release time.
