Mac DeMarco talks about teeth, crowdsurfing and sings The Grateful Dead backstage at Laneway Singapore

Last weekend the AU review had the opportunity to sit in a media conference with Canada’s Mac Demarco at Laneway Festival in Singapore. Mac talks of his infamous gap tooth and his guilty pleasures – like enjoying listening to Coldplay – despite the strange reactions he may get.

He and his band mate discuss his crowd and the crazy fans who steal his shoes and grope him… though he has “gotten good at grabbing the kids arm, finding him…”

Then, when asked what song(s) he was listening to right now, he replied with “Casey Jones” by the Grateful Dead and sung a bit of it…

Mac DeMarco is currently touring Australia with Laneway Festival. He also has these sideshows:

Tuesday 3rd February
The HiFi, Melbourne

Wednesday 4th February – SOLD OUT
The HiFi, Melbourne
