Interview: Maisie Peters on “John Hughes Movie”, Brighton and her debut album

Maisie Peters

Maisie Peters grew to Internet fame since launching her YouTube back in 2015. Six years on and she’s rising to take over the globe with the success of her latest single “John Hughes Movie” (her favourite is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).

Touting Taylor Swift as a fan and her inspiration, Peters is the next generation of pop to get our ears across. In fact, you may have already with her work appearing on Love Island in 2019 and the Birds of Prey soundtrack. She was set to support Lauv and Niall Horan respectively back in 2020, but those thwarted plans turned into the creation of her upcoming debut album.

“John Hughes Movie” is the first taste of the record, oozing with 80s inspiration and a hook to get your feet moving. We sat down to discuss the single that’s cracking the single’s charts, Brighton and her future album.

“John Hughes Movie” is OUT NOW!

Keep up with Maisie Peters on her Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Spotify.
