After a five-year hiatus, singer / songwriter Holly Cookie Baker is heading off for an extensive Where Do You Go In the Winter tour, taking in several New Zealand and Australian east coast stops. Raised on a sea-side farm in rural South Australia, she honed her country pop writing skills listening to the waves and the sounds of the vast open lands.

She’s recorded with Tim Rogers of You Am I fame, toured with Mick Thomas from Weddings Parties Anything and shared stages with a host of inspirational singers including Kate Miller-Heidke, Ben Lee, Jen Clother and Angie Hart from Frente. After her eclectic 2019 album This Is Not a Love Song, she’s back with new music  and ready to show off her musical talents.

Cookie had this to say about the tour:

“This tour is really about reconnecting — with the music, with the audience, and with the kind of intimate, soul-nourishing shows that made me fall in love with performing in the first place. New Zealand has been such a huge supporter of my music from afar, and this tour feels like a really special way to finally build that connection in person. In a time when so much feels fast and fleeting, I’m craving the slow magic of small rooms and real moments.”

The journey kicks off on May 28 in Auckland, with several intimate NZ venues on the list,  before returning home for a run of Australian shows, including a hometown performance in Adelaide. Her music could probably best be described as gritty story-telling mixed with a healthy dose of poetic grit.

Cookie has garnered a devoted grassroots following for her intimate, raw, and emotionally resonant sound. Check out the tour dates below:
