Brisbane hardcore quartet Headwreck have gone from strength to strength since dropping their debut EP Glamorise Demise last year. The promising newcomers have now returned with Glamorise Demise Reimagined, featuring different takes on four tracks from the original project – out today.

The new EP – with reimagined versions of “Empty Space”, “Eulogy”, “The End of the Suite” and “Freefall” – showcases the band’s softer side without losing their unique edge. It sees guitarist Jamo Benadie’s sweet cleans take the forefront, replacing frontman Connor Hickman’s harsh vocals from the original songs. Sweeping synths and distant harmonies swim through delicate piano and warm strings, with ambient programming and washed-out electric guitar blending virtual and live instrumentation.

Having been triple j Unearthed Feature Artists and selling out their headline launch show and vinyl press, Headwreck are making moves and turning heads. The Brisbane four-piece also embarked on a co-headline tour with Alera earlier this year after the release of their split to huge success. Things are only going to get bigger and better from these guys, so learn the words now before you’re screaming them back at packed shows across the country.
