How about some brand new music to help celebrate the long weekend?
Today we’ve got the exclusive premiere of Josh Needs’ “Silver Sheets”, a grungy slice of post-punk that we’ve not been able to shake since our first listen. “Silver Sheets” is the latest glimpse we’ve had of Needs’ upcoming EP Fault Line, covering one of the more unexpected universal experiences to come out of the pandemic – sneaky lockdown hook-ups. It’s fiery, feisty, and, like its risqué subject, there’s just something inherently cool about it.
Of the track, Josh says:
“The track started off with this riff I had written on the electric after plugging into a bunch of pedals that gave it this dark grungy essence. I produced an instrumental demo that had a few scratch layers of guitar ideas underneath the main riff. Then, I brought my laptop over to my mate and fellow singer songwriter Dean Pritchard (Dean Ray) and we sat down and listened to it a couple times before we started to come up with a melody and story for the lyrics.”
