Exclusive Music Video Premiere: Osaka Punch “In or Out” (2017)

Brisbane’s Osaka Punch have spent the last nine years making a name for themselves as one of Australia’s best live acts, bringing together rock, prog, funk and everything in between to make a sound truly their own. Last year they released a seven track EP Death Monster Super Squad to critical acclaim and today we’re excited to premiere their third single and music video from the release, “In or Out”.

This single, and its video, are a long time coming for the group. It was filmed in an abandoned warehouse in Liverpool, UK, back in 2015, while they were recording the album in the iconic Parr St Studios. Her Name is Murder Productions made the clip, which is every bit the epic rock video the song deserved. Fans of the band will also be happy to hear this heralds the end of the EP’s run and is the release’s final single. This can only mean more new tunes are on the way.

But while you wait, watch the video now:

And if you want to learn more about the song that sits behind it, here’s a little more about it, courtesy of the band themselves:

‘In or Out’ is about the power imbalance in a relationship/friendship/band when one person is more devoted, and is starting to feel disconnected from the other. It’s the pursuit of clarity, in a definitive moment of “do we go any further, or is this the end of the road?” When we’ve finally had enough of giving everything, the least we deserve is a straight answer. Are you in or are you out?

Death Monster Super Squad is out through Birds Robe and MGM Distribution.

To coincide with the release, the band have packaged a new digital version of the EP on Bandcamp, complete with new artwork. You can grab that HERE. You can also get your hands on the iTunes version HERE. And to learn more about it all, visit their official website.
