Exclusive Album Stream: Omar Musa – Dead Centre (2016 EP)

Omar Musa has been wearing many hats recently; the poet and author has been touring  through the US, Asia, South America, Europe and across Australia with his debut novel Here Come The Dogs – a poignant and acclaimed piece of work that has seen him reach a wider audience. Now, he’s donned his musician hat, bringing to life some confronting and raw realities of social and racial disadvantage on his new EP, Dead Centre.

Instead of using his platform as a mere soapbox to speak from, Musa on Dead Centre, channels the frustrations and pain that come from marginalisation and oppression into some music that is not only hard hitting lyrically, but makes you want to move with the rhythm at the same time.

The EP features guest spots from some brilliant talent including MatayaKate Miller-HeidkeHau and L-FRESH The Lion, not to mention some brilliant production courtesy of Joelistics and Poncho (Thundamentals), Dead Centre is a record that will generate conversations that need to be had. That, and it’s a damn fine piece of music too.

Before its official release through Big Village Records tomorrow, we’re streaming the whole thing below!
